The COVID-19 pandemic has produced an unprecedented change. How has it affected your library, and most importantly, you? How are you coping? Share your ideas and concerns. Tell us what can we do for you.

    Hello:

Our library has been closed with some staff working remotely and others being held on reserve status.  We've been trying to assist our patrons as best we can through email or phone services, but many of our visitors come to us for the free faxing and low cost print services and of course to use the computers.  I'd be very interested to hear what other libraries have done or what suggestions they may have as to helping patrons in this time receive access to computers.  We've found some local services (UPS Stores, Staples, etc.) but of course most everything is at cost.  I'd be very interested to hear of any suggestions other libraries may have for low to no cost computer, printing and faxing services.

    Best,

Although this may not be a solution for everybody, there are smartphones apps for sending faxes. There are also adds-on for Gmail. Obviously, if someone doesn't have a smart phone or a computer, a third party is necessary. I imagine that shelters and churches may have fax capabilities.
This article has some ideas. However, these are difficult times and some options are simply not possible.

During this time, I am doing things that I didn't have the time to do before. Cleaning, relaxing, organizing, reading, painting, etc. Learning to do things differently. Browsing the library website, therefore, I can become more informative and helpful when it becomes times to return to work. Now is the time to reflect, fix, meditate, help, and give thanks. Take this time to be a better you. Take courses and discover things you didn't know were there.

    I hear you!
We get caught so much in our daily lives that we tend to forget the obvious. Pauses are great to remind us the essential.
