I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of an upcoming webinar from our friends at Florida State University. Please see below for more information:
Using Open Educational Resources to Promote Lifelong Learning with Florida State University Webinar
This workshop provides attendees with knowledge about using Open Educational Resources (OER) to promote lifelong learning. The high prices of textbooks may prevent libraries from purchasing textbooks for their patrons. However, many patrons outside of academia may be interested in continuing to learn. This workshop will show participants how to locate free, high-quality online textbooks from many disciplines and access learning materials to promote learning.
Jeff Phillips, the Interim Director for Teaching, Learning, and Engagement for FSU University Libraries, and Amy Mosher, the Graduate Admissions Coordinator for the FSU School of Information, will be there to share resources also available to students of FSU's School of Information graduate degree programs. The presenters will also cover the School of Information's degree programs including admission requirements, distance learning costs and financial aid availability.
This webinar will be offered twice:
Monday, October 14th and Friday, October 18th from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm EST
